Christi Weiser begins her first year as the head softball coach at NIACC. Weiser, who is also the head softball coach at Garner-Hayfield/Ventura, was an assistant softball coach at Colorado Mesa University, a NCAA Division II school, for two seasons.
Prior to coaching at Colorado Mesa, Weiser was a member of the Regis University coaching staff for nine seasons.
Weiser is a native of Canon City, Col., where she was an all-state selection in softball. She attended Regis University and graduated with a degree in Psychology in 2000 and was a three-time All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selection as well as a first team all-region selection.
Bob Horner begins his first year as assistant softball coach at NIACC. Horner, who was the head softball coach at Mason City High School from 2005-06, is a member of the Iowa High School Athletic Association basketball hall of fame.
Horner, who received his bachelor of arts from Upper Iowa in physical education and history, coached the Mason City boys basketball teams to state titles in 1996 and 1997.
Besides coaching basketball and softball at Mason City, Horner has also coached baseball at several levels at Mason City, and basketball, baseball and football at Lake Mills and West Bend.
