MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore Tim Sharples has signed national letter of intent to play soccer at Georgian Court University, an NCAA Division II school in Lakewood Township, Ocean County, N.J.
Sharples (York, UK) was a first-team all-NJCAA Region XI defensemen during his sophomore season for the Trojans.
DES MOINES – The NIACC men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Iowa Western in the NJCAA Region XI semifinals on Nov. 2.
DES MOINES – The NIACC soccer team (6-10) plays No. 1 Iowa Western (18-0) in the NJCAA Region XI semifinals at noon on Saturday at the Cownie Soccer Complex.
Iowa Western topped NIACC 2-0 and 5-0 in the two regular season meetings.
MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore Leo Driscoll has been selected the NJCAA men's soccer player of the week for matches played Oct. 21-27.
Driscoll was also selected as the ICCAC offensive soccer player of the week for his performance in games last week against Indian Hills and Scott Community College.
MASON CITY – The NIACC men's soccer team topped Indian Hills 4-3 Tuesday in the opening round of the NJCAA Region XI tournament at the NIACC soccer field.
Sophomore Nako Omot (Worthington, Minn.) scored the game-winning goal with an assist from freshman Matthew Stewart (Lake Worth, Fla.) with 15 minutes, 32 seconds left in the contest.
