5 NIACC players ink with NCAA Division I schools

MASON CITY - Five NIACC baseball players signed NCAA Division I schools on Wednesday.

Pitchers Evan Reifert and Michael Oh signed with North Carolina of the Atlantic Coast Conference, pitcher Tom Skoro inked with Missouri of the Southeastern Conference, pitcher Harrison Beethe signed with Texas Christian University of the Big 12 Conference and Jacob Hansen signed with Cincinnati of the American Athletic Conference.

Reifert, a right-hander, was 1-1 last season with 28 strikeouts and 21 walks in 17 2/3 innings pitched. He was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 30th round of the 2018 MLB Draft.

Oh, a right-handed, was 4-1 with a 3.74 earned run average in 2017 before suffering arm problems. Oh had 16 strikeouts and three walks in his four starts in 2017.

Oh missed the entire 2018 season and served as a student assistant coach for the Trojans and will be a sophomore in 2019.

Skoro, a left-hander, was 8-2 with a 3.23 ERA in 2017. Skoro, a NJCAA Region XI honorable mention selection in 2017, accumulated 86 strikeouts, which ranks fourth on the school's single-season list, with 28 walks in 55 2/3 innings pitched.

Beethe, a right-hander, was 1-2 with 20 strikeouts and 11 walks in 11 innings pitched in 2017.

Hansen, a shortstop, hit .266 with seven doubles, six home runs, one triple and 23 RBIs as a freshman in 2017.
