No. 20 NIACC sweeps Northeast CC

MASON CITY - The No. 20 NIACC softball team picked up an ICCAC doubleheader sweep of Northeast CC on Saturday on the NIACC campus.

NIACC won the first game 8-0 in five innings and took the second game 9-0 also in five innings.

NIACC (15-7 overall, 7-1 in the ICCAC) received a no-hitter from Kylie Sherwood in the second game.

NIACC sits in second place in the ICCAC with its 7-1 mark. DMACC leads the league at 10-0.

Kirkwood is in third place with a 6-2 league record. The Eagles split a doubleheader Saturday with Iowa Central (Iowa Central winning 4-0 and Kirkwood winning 8-2).

NIACC returns to action Sunday in a home doubleheader against Iowa Cental. The first game is slated to start at noon.
