Several NIACC student-athletes earn NJCAA all-academic honors
MASON CITY - A total of 55 NIACC student-athletes earned 2022-23 NJCAA all-academic honors.
NIACC landed 10 student-athletes on the first-team (4.0 grade point average), 31 on the second-team (3.80-3.99) and 15 on the third-team (3.60-3.79).
Also the NIACC women's golf team, men's golf team and baseball team earned 2022-23 NJCAA academic team of the year recognition. The NIACC women's golf team had a team grade point average of 3.74 (fifth among women's golf teams), the men's golf team had a team GPA of 3.54 (13th among men's golf teams) and the baseball team had a team GPA of 3.47 (16th among baseball teams).
The overall NJCAA women's golf academic team of the year was Odessa College with a 3.96, the overall NJCAA men's golf academic team of the year was Andrew College with a 3.93 GPA and the NJCAA baseball academic team of the year was Paris Junior College with a 3.88 GPA.
Earning first-team NJCAA all-academic honors for NIACC were Alyssa Alert (women's golf), Breyden Christensen (men's cross country), Chiara Barbieri (women's wrestling), Justice Jones (men's basketball), John Lyman (baseball), Jack Mausser (baseball), Kaylee Ollendieck (volleyball), Kennedy Schwiesow (volleyball), Matt Seberson (men's track and field) and Jada Westover (women's soccer).
Earning second-team NJCAA all-academic honors were Marisa Barragan (volleyball), Adam Berghult (baseball), Ryan Berkley (men's golf), Kirsten Boerjan (women's golf), Rhett Bonnette (men's wrestling), Will Couchman (baseball), Jake Gonse (baseball), Karissa Hoon (women's golf), Isaac Huettl (baseball), Abbie Hyde (volleyball), Joe Jarecki (baseball), Trett Joles (baseball), Austin Klug (baseball), Ravyn Krachey (softball), Laken Lienhard (softball), Emma Logeman (women's track and field), Molly McGuire (softball), Claire McCardle (women's soccer), Fritz Meyer (baseball), Kai Nelles (men's golf), Cole Newell (baseball), Katy Olive (softball), Carter Pataska (men's basketball), Maria Paz Gimenez Villamil (women's soccer), Jaya Soor (women's soccer), Fabian Steene (men's track and field), Lily Stockberger (women's track and field), Saige Sullivan (volleyball), Shaye Theobald (softball), Sydney Toman (softball).
