NIACC men fall to No. 18 Iowa Lakes, 77-68

ESTHERVILLE — The NIACC men's basketball team received 36 points from Boy Van Vliet but it wasn't enough as the Trojans fell 77-68 against No. 18 Iowa Lakes on Wednesday.
"I thought Boy played extremely well," NIACC coach Mark Mohl said. "He was physical and proved he's one of the best players in the league."
Luke Mascall-Wright and Angus Fischer added nine points apiece for NIACC (15-13, 2-9), which was called for 28 fouls.
"It was very physical and they took advantage of that in the first half," Mohl said. "I thought in the second half the fouls evened out and we hung with them. They're a good team."
The Lakers were led by 15 points from Cody Cox while Chris Jones (12) and Tywon Bressler (10) also reached double figures.
NIACC wraps up its regular season Saturday at Kirkwood.
