NIACC men stop Wartburg JV, 90-76

MASON CITY — NIACC had five players reach double figures as the Trojans picked up a 90-76 victory over the Wartburg College junior varsity on Monday.

Boy Van Vliet led the way with 23 points while Trei Mitchell had 20 points. James Wanjara and Lachlan Anthony added 11 points apiece while Matt Baker had 10 for the Trojans (14-12), who host DMACC on Wednesday.

"Trei really did a nice job scoring and moving the ball," NIACC assistant coach Jeremy Winters said. "He also had seven assists."

Former Mason City prep J.T. Rottinghaus had nine points, former Rockford prep Mitch Longcor had five points and former West Fork prep Evan Sprung had two points for the Knights.
