Kirkwood men stop NIACC, 93-73
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 93-73 decision to No. 9 Kirkwood in an ICCAC contest Saturday in the NIACC gym.
Hunter Rhodes led Kirkwood with 21 points. Nick Richards scored 17 points and Josh Bartlett and Cristen Wilson both scored 15 points for the Eagles.
Sophomore Boy Van Vliet led NIACC with 28 points with five rebounds and three rebounds. Freshman Luke Mascall-Wright scored 14 points for the Trojans.
Kirkwood led 40-38 at the half and outscored the Trojans 53-35 in the second half to claim the ICCAC victory.
Kirkwood (19-3 overall) is in second place in the ICCAC with a record of 5-1. NIACC (13-9 overall) is in a tie for sixth in the league with a record of 1-5.
NIACC returns to action Tuesday at home against Dakota County Technical College. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
