NIACC men stop DCTC, 79-77

ROSEMOUNT, Minn. — The NIACC men's basketball team earned a 79-77 victory over Dakota County Technical College on Wednesday as Trei Mitchell hit a shot with five seconds left for the Trojans.

"We were up 20 with 10 minutes left and gave the lead away," NIACC coach Mark Mohl said. "I left guys in too long and they got tired but Trei bailed us out. I'm happy for him."

Mitchell finished with 13 points while Boy Van Vliet scored 16 for NIACC (11-4).

NIACC CAREER NUMBERS: Van Vliet has 444 points, 53 3-point goals, 143 rebounds, 138 assists and 72 steals ... Trei Mitchell has 191 points, 109 assists, 100 rebounds and 62 steals ... Angus Fischer has 161 points and 122 rebounds.
