NIACC's Saunders earns league POW honor
MASON CITY - NIACC's Lewis Saunders was selected as the ICCAC men's soccer player of the week for the week of Oct. 8-14.
Saunders, a midfielder, scored two goals and collected three assists in the Trojans' wins over DCTC and Scott CC, which helped them qualify for the NJCAA Region XI tournament.
Saunders ranks fifth in the ICCAC with five assists in league play and ranks eighth in the league with six goals in conference competition.
NIACC opens play in the regional tournament at Indian Hills on Saturday.
