NIACC's Irakoze places 8th at time trial
OTTUMWA - NIACC freshman Janvier Irakoze placed eighth at the NJCAA Region XI time trial on Friday.
Irakoze covered the five kilometers on the Cedar Creek Golf Course in a time of 16:45. Iowa Western's Shawn Kiptoo won the time trial in 15:39.
Also for the Trojans, sophomore Sam Pedelty was 17th in 17:48, Ben Ellis was 21st in 17:53, Paul Roehr was 27th (18:17), Ellis Regan was 39th (18:37) and Alexander Levad was 71st in 21:19.
NIACC was fifth in the team standings with 109 points. Iowa Western won the time trial with 24 points and Iowa Central was second with 80 points.
