COUNCIL BLUFFS - The No. 17 (NJCAA Division II) NIACC softball team split a doubleheader against Iowa Western on Sunday.
Iowa Western (7-4 overall) won the first game 13-8 and NIACC won the second game 14-9.
In the second game, freshman Brynnlin Kroymann hit two home runs with six RBIs to power the Trojan offense.
Also for the Trojans in game two, Katy Olive was 3 for 4 with a double and a home run. Laken Lienhard was 3 for 4, including a double, and two RBIs.
Lienard pitched three innings in relief allowing two hits and one earned run.
NIACC (11-1) returns to action March 10-12 where the Trojans will play six games at the Midwest Bash Juco Classic in Evansville, Ind.
