MASON CITY - The NIACC women's soccer team opened its home season with a 4-2 victory over Hawkeye CC on Saturday on the NIACc campus.

NIACC (2-1 overall) received two goals and an assist from Tarran Williams in the non-conference victory.

Sophia Gebl and Zjhayda Heath also scored goals for the Lady Trojans. Merle Flasskamp assisted on Gebl's goal and Williams assisted on Heath's goal.

NIACC led 2-0 at the half and pushed its lead to 4-0 before Hawkeye CC scored the final two goals on the contest.

The two teams meet in an ICCAC contest on Oct. 12 in Waterloo.

NIACC returns to action Sept. 21 in its conference opener at Iowa Western.
