COUNCIL BLUFFS - The NIACC baseball team dropped a 9-2 decision to No. 4 (NJCAA Division I) Iowa Western on Saturday.
Iowa Western, which swept the Trojans in a twinbill on Friday, pounded out nine hits to score its nine runs.
The Reivers plated three runs in the first inning. They also added single runs in the second and third innings and also pushed across two runs in the sixth and eighth innings.
NIACC scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
NIACC (5-16 overall, 1-3 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday in a doubleheader against Southwestern in Marion. The first game is slated to start at 1 p.m.
