SPENCER - The NIACC men's soccer team dropped a 4-3 decision to Iowa Lakes in the opening round of the NJCAA Region XI tournament on Wednesday.
The match was tied 2-2 at the half and Iowa Lakes took a 4-2 lead with 30 minutes left in the contest.
Sophomore Khaliyl Hanson scored for the Trojans with 12:04 remaining in the contest to trim the deficit to 4-3, but that would be as close as the Trojans would get.
Sachin Kumar Bargota scored both of NIACC's goals in the first half.
NIACC wrapped up the season with a record of 8-11.
