NIACC's Katesmark earns first-team all-region honor
MASON CITY - NIACC freshman midfielder Perry Katesmark was selected to the NJCAA Region XI men's soccer first team.
Katesmark is the fifth first-team all-region selection for Jonathan Platt, who has coached one first-team all-region player in his five years as coach of the Trojans.
Katesmark scored one goal and led the Trojans with nine assists.
NIACC freshman Michael Donovan was a second-team all-region midfielder/defender. Donovan scored four goals and four assists for the Trojans, who were 8-11.
Also for the Trojans, sophomore forwards Dion Dozzell and Khaliyl Hanson were honorable mention selections.
Dozell led the Trojans with 13 goals and also had three assists. Hanson scored nine goals and had five assists.
