NIACC's Jacques places 2nd in 5K
GRINNELL - NIACC freshman Brian Jacques placed second in the 5,000-meter run on Saturday at the Grinnell College Indoor Invitational.
Jacques was second in 15 minutes, 34.25 seconds and NIACC sophomore Blake Keller was third in 15:40.41.
NIACC, which placed fifth with 51.5 points, also received a sixth-place finish from Akahnni Delgado in the 800 (2:02.28).
In the relays on Saturday, the Trojans were second in the 4x200 (1:35.25), third in the distrance medley relay (11:34.10) and third in the 4x400 (3:32.56).
The Trojans ran Canyon Kuhlmann, Blake Lindsey, Hunter Filloon and Tyler Crawford in the DMR. In the 4x200, the Trojans ran Kalen Eastman, Prince Boduo, Brandon Bluhm and Scott Hengesteg.
In the 4x400, the Trojans ran David Carter, Kyle Younker, Hengesteg and Delgado.
For the NIACC women, the Lady Trojans won the 4x200 relay in a time of 1:52.26. The Lady Trojans ran Jalynn Scrivner, Erin Schwarzkopf, Anne Marie Morris and Dashawn Wyatt.
Also, Wyatt was second in the 60-meter dash in a time of 8.20 seconds and Julia Dunlavey was sixth in the mile (6:01.48).
The Lady Trojans were fourth in the DMR (14:56.22) and fifth in the 4x400 (4:28.73).
The NIACC women placed seventh with 33 points.
The NIACC track and field teams return to action Feb. 9-10 at the South Dakota State University Indoor Classic.
