NIACC's Graeser earns honorable mention all-region honors
FORT DODGE - NIACC's Xander Graeser placed 12th Friday at the NJCAA Region 11 Division II cross country championships at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course.
Graeser, a freshman who earned honorable mention all-region honors, covered the 8-kilometer course in a time of 28 minutes, 48 seconds.
Graeser is the 108th all-region performer for the NIACC men's cross country team since the program started in 2004.
NIACC placed third in the NJCAA Region 11 Division II race with 82 points. DMACC was the regional champion with 18 points and Southeastern CC was second with 45 points.
Also for the Trojans Friday, sophomore Lukas Vance was 19th in a time of 29:39, freshman Alex Almelien was 26th in a time of 31:43, freshman Nikolli Mosley was 28th (32:05), sophomore Kevin Carney was 30th (33:49), freshman Colby Essing was 32nd (34:38) and freshman Brian Nunez was 34th (35:39).
NIACC will compete in the NJCAA Division II national championships on Nov. 8 in Fort Dodge.
