NIACC women upset No. 5 Iowa Western
MASON CITY - For the second straight season, the NIACC women's basketball season knocked off nationally-ranked Iowa Western on its home court.
NIACC upset No. 5 Iowa Western 61-56 Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym. Sophomore Kourtney Manning scored 19 points and freshman Kameron Jones recorded a double/double with 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Trojans.
Last season, the Trojans knocked off the No. 6 Reivers 59-54 on Feb. 2 in the NIACC gym.
Also on Saturday for the Trojans, sophomore point guard Audrey Martinez-Stewart scored 14 points with eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. Jackie Pippett scored eight points with eight rebounds, four steals, three assists and two blocked shots.
NIACC returns to action Jan. 25 in an ICCAC contest at Northeast CC.
