Trio of Trojans place 3rd at DeBacker Invite
CEDAR RAPIDS - NIACC sophomores Taja Conley, Gift Gonpue and Tenisha Herberr all earned third-place finishes Saturday at the Mount Mercy DeBacker Invitational.
Conley placed third in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 15.72 seconds. Herbert was third in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:00.50.
Conley's time in the 100 hurdles ranks second on the school's all-tme 100 hurdles list. Herbert's time in the 400 ranks third in the school's all-time outdoor 400 list.
Gonpue placed third in the long jump with a leap of 5.04 meters (16 feet, 6 1/2 inches). Kordai Luten was seventh in the long jump with a jump of 4.10 meters (13-5 1/2).
Herbert also placed ninth in the 200 in a time of 28.20.
NIACC's Suzanne Guedeyi was fifth in the 400 in a time of 1:02.63, which ranks seventh on the school's all-time outdoor 400 list. The Trojans' Emily Usher was eighth in the 400 (1:06.93) and Adhel Deng was ninth (1:10.26).
NIACc's Cloey Usher was ninth in the 5,000 in a time of 21:58.01.
NIACC returns to action Friday at the Grand View Viking Classic in Des Moines.
