NIACC's Brinkman places 7th in discus at regionals
COUNCIL BLUFFS - NIACC freshman Hannah Brinkman placed seventh in the discus Saturday at the NJCAA Region 11 Championships hosted by Iowa Western.
Brinkman earned her seventh-place finish with a toss of 32.26 meters (105-10). NIACC sophomore Kit Byars was eighth in the discus with a throw of 30.24 meters (99-2).
Also for the Trojans Saturday, sophomore Gift Gonpue was eighth in the long jump with a leap of 5.07 meters (16-7 3/4).
NIACC placed fourth in the 4x800-meter relay in a time of 10 minutes, 57.86 seconds. The Trojans ran Cloey Usher, Bridget Canton, Juliana Droll and Olivia Spurling.
