No. 6 NIACC plays at No. 4 DMACC
BOONE - The No. 6 NIACC softball team plays at No. 4 DMACC on Friday in key ICCAC doubleheader.
The first game is slated to start at 1 p.m.
DMACC (30-5 overall) leads the ICCAC with a 13-1 mark. NIACC (20-10 overall) is in second place with a 12-2 league record.
No. 5 Kirkwood (32-11 overall) is in third at 11-3 and No. 9 Iowa Central (28-9) is in fourth at 9-5.
NIACC won three of four games from Iowa Central. The Lady Trojans host DMACC in a twinbill on April 28 and host Kirkwood in a doubleheader on May 5.
The top two teams in the ICCAC hosts separate pods for the NJCAA Region XI tournament May 9-11.
NIACC was swept in a nonconference doubleheader by NJCAA Division I Indian Hills on Tuesday.
DMACC swept Ellsworth (7-0 and 13-1) in an ICCAC twinbill last Sunday.
DMACC's No. 1 pitcher is Josie Swafford, a freshman from Choctaw, Okla. Swafford is 14-1 with a 0.78 earned run average. She has 131 strikeouts in 89 1/3 innings pitched.
