NIACC returns to softball rankings at No. 17
MASON CITY - After a week's absence, the NIACC softball team returned to the NJCAA Division II rankings at No. 17 on Tuesday.
NIACC (26-14 overall, 18-6 in the ICCAC) was ranked No. 6 in the April 16 poll and then fell out of the rankings in the April 23 poll.
Last week, NIACC swept league doubleheaders from Ellsworth and Southwestern and the Lady Trojans split a twinbill against No. 2 DMACC.
Kirkwood is ranked eighth in this week's poll and Iowa Central is ranked No. 13.
With four ICCAC games remaining, NIACC sits in third place in the ICCAC standings with its 18-6 record . DMACC (39-6 overall) leads the league with a record of 22-2, Kirkwood (38-13 overal) is in second at 17-5 and Iowa Central (34-13 overall) is in fourth at 15-9.
NIACC wraps up the regular season with home doubleheaders against Ellsworth on Saturday and Kirkwood on Sunday.
