NIACC's Conley runs career-best time in 400 hurdles
MONROE, La. - NIACC freshman Taja Conley and Lilly Radcliffe competed in the 400-meter hurdle prelims Thursday at the NJCAA Division I Championships at Brown Stadium on the University of Louisiana Monroe campus.
Conley, who is from Paullina, placed 21st in the prelims with a career-best time of 1 minute, 8.43 seconds, which ranks fifth on the school's all-time list. Radcliffe, who is from Melrose, Wis., placed 22nd in the prelims in a time of 1:09.67.
Conley's previous best time in the 400 hurdles was 1:08.85 at the Jim Duncan Invitational on April 12. Radcliffe nearly matched her personal best time of 1:09.37 at the NJCAA Region 11 championships.
On Friday, the Trojans clocked a season-best time of 4:16.87 in the 4x400-meter relay prelims. The Trojans ran Emily Usher, Tenisha Herbert, Radcliffe and Conley. The Trojans placed 14th in the prelims.
