NIACC men take third at Indian Hills Invitational
OTTUMWA – The NIACC men's cross country team, ranked third in the latest USTFCCCA NJCAA Division II poll, placed third with 75 points at the Indian Hills Invitational at Cedar Creek Golf Course on Friday.
Melvin Kipkemboi paced the Trojans, who finished behind Iowa Western (46 points) and Iowa Central (57 points) in a time of 25 minutes, 17.5 seconds in the 8-kilometer race, finishing fourth overall.
Jorge Ruiz finished fifth, Vicente Correia was 11th in 26:09, Janvier Irakoze was 21st in 26:45.7 and Richard Marcoux was 34th in 27:31.4 to round out the scoring for NIACC.
Also for the Trojans, Stephen Ringo was 43rd in a time of 28:04, Ellis Regan was 46th (28:24), Stephen Votaw was 48th (28:40), Aidan Bauermeister was 54th (29:12), Ben Ellis was 58th (29:46), Maxwell Deeter was 72nd (32:43) and Isaac Anderson was 73rd (33:36).
NIACC returns to action Nov. 1 at the NJCAA Region XI championships in Fort Dodge.
