NIACC women fall to Iowa Central, 68-51
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team dropped a 68-51 decision to Iowa Central Wednesday in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
Iowa Central led 14-7 after the first quarter and pushed its lead to 34-22 at the half. The Tritons outscored the Lady Trojans 34-29 in the second half.
Iowa Central was led by Isabell West with 25 points. Nevaeh Galloway was also in double figures for the Tritons with 12 points.
NIACC was led by freshman Kourtney Manning, the league's reigning player of the week, with 20 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. She also added four steals and one assist.
Also for the Lady Trojans, Aaliyah Hill and Calista Polk both scored eight points and Czarina Mada scored seven points and grabbed nine rebounds. Hill also added five assists.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at home against RCTC in a nonconference game, which starts at noon.
