No. 8 RCTC stops NIACC, 87-68
MASON CITY - The No. 8 RCTC women's basketball team topped NIACC 87-68 in a nonconference contest Saturday afternoon in the NIACC gym.
RCTC (7-0) was led by Olivia Christianson with 33 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. The Yellowjackets also received 17 points from Kandace Sikkink, 16 points from Ravyn Miles and 10 points from Kiley Nihert.
NIACC (1-8) was led by freshman Kourtney Manning with 19 points and seven rebounds. Also for the Lady Trojans, Czarina Mada scored 15 points and Haley Hungerholt scored a career-high 12 points and matched her career-best with seven rebounds.
Sophomore Abby Leach returned to the court Saturday for the first time since Jan. 23 when she injured her knee in a home contest against DMACC. Leach scored seven points with three rebounds, two blocked shots, one assist and one steal.
NIACC returns to action Tuesday in an ICCAC contest at Southeastern in Keokuk. Game time is slated for 5 p.m.
