Trojans' Hanson places 15t at Indian Hills Invite
OTTUMWA - Freshman Hailey Hanson led the NIACC women's cross country team Friday with a 15th-place finish at the Indian Hills Invitational.
Hanson earned her 15th-place finish in a personal-best time of 19 minutes, 53 seconds on the 5-kilometer course. Hanson's time of 19:53 ranks 11th on the school's all-time 5K list.
NIACC placed fifth in the team standings with 132 points. St. Ambrose was the team champion with 27 points and host Indian Hills was second with 57 points.
Also for the Trojans Friday, sophomore Bridget Canton placed 20th with a career-best time of 20:31, which is tied for 21st on NIACC's all-time 5K list.
NIACC sophomore Olivia Spurling placed 21st in a time of 20:40, freshman Zoey Dreckman was 40th (23:52), freshman Allison Lensing was 46th in a personal-best time of 25:10 and freshman Jennifer Carranza was 54th (27:31).
NIACC returns to action on Oct. 24 at the NJCAA Region 11 Championships in Fort Dodge.
