NIACC baseball coach Travis Hergert picked up his 200th career win on Tuesday with an 8-5 win over Southeastern in La Crosse, Wis.
The following is a look back at Hergert's milestone wins:
1st victory - NIACC 12, Ontario Blue Jays 1 (March 9, 2013)
At Vero Beach, Fla., Tim Black gained the win for the Trojans allowing one run on four hits in six innings of work. Tanner Unkel, Max Waletich, Drew Verstegen and Brett White all collected two hits. Hunter King and Jake Adams both drove in two runs and Verstegen scored three runs.
50th victory - NIACC 9, Wartburg College JV 3 (April 22, 2014)
At Mason City, Gavin Sheakley gained the win for the Trojans allowing three runs in five innings of work. Casey Hall, Javier Izarra and Adams all collected two hits and Adams drove in three runs.
100th victory - NIACC 9, Iowa Central 6 (10) (May 10, 2015)
At Waterloo, Hergert's 100th career wins was one of his most dramatic ones that lifted the Trojans to the NJCAA Region XI title game against Southwestern.
Trailing 7-6 in the top of the ninth inning with two outs and two strikes to Iowa Central, Daniel Bradley hit a solo home run to send the game into extra innings. The Trojans scored three runs in the 10th inning and eventually went on to win the regional title and district title to advance to the NJCAA Division II World Series.
Chad Christensen gained the win in relief for NIACC. Christensen pitched five innings allowing one run with five strikeouts and one walk.
Bradley was 3 for 6 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Jonathan Cruz was 3 for 5 and Troy Bullingham was 2-3 with two doubles.
150th victory - NIACC 16, Southeastern 3 (May 16, 2016)
At Waterloo, the Trojans claimed the NJCAA Region XI title for the second straight year with a convincing 13-run win over Southeastern. The Trojans pounded out 19 hits, including home runs from Bullingham, Robbie Glendinning and Austin LaDoux.
The Trojans received four hits from Spencer Halloran, three each from Glendinnng and Bullingham and two each from Malique Ziegler, Blake Whitecotton, Cruz and LaDoux.
The winning pitcher in the regional title game was Dusty Harrill, who allowed three runs in 5 2/3 innings of work.
200th victory - NIACC 8, Southeastern 5 (March 27, 2018)
At La Crosse, Wis., because of inclement weather in Iowa, Hergert had to go to Wisconsin to claim victory No. 200.
Gaining the win was Spencer Chirpich, who did not allow a run with nine strikeouts and one walk in seven innings of work. Riley Wikel recorded the final two outs in the ninth inning to collect his first career save.
