NORFOLK, Neb. - The NIACC baseball team swept Northeast CC in an ICCAC doubleheader on Monday.
NIACC won the first game 15-1 in six innings and took the second game 13-1 in five innings.
In the first game, sophomore left-hander Brandon Williamson (3-3) gained the win allowing one run on three hits in five innings of work. Williamson struck out nine, walked one and only allowed a solo home run in the first inning.
Freshman Kamrin Arons provided a big chunk of the NIACC offense in the opener. He was 2 for 5, including two home runs, with five RBIs. It is the eighth time this season that a NIACC player has hit two home runs in a single game.
In the second game, NIACC received home runs from Shane Kelleher, Daniel Nikitovic, Bryce Ball and Ben Komonsky. NIACC scored five runs in the first inning, two in the second inning and pushed across six runs in the third inning.
Nikitovic was 3 for 4 with four RBIs. Ball was 3 for 3 with three RBIs and Joey Werner had two doubles and scored three runs.
Sophomore right-hander Spencer Chirpich gained the win for the Trojans. He scattered two hits and did not allow a run in three innings of work.
