Trojans outscore Marshalltown CC, 17-16
MARSHALLTOWN - The NIACC baseball team outscored Marshalltown CC 17-16 in the first game of a three-game series Friday.
Friday's second game was suspended due to darkness with the Trojans leading 22-14 in the ninth inning.
In the first game, the Trojans pounded out 16 hits to score their 17 runs. George McIntyre powered the Trojan offense with two home runs and five RBIs.
NIACC's Minchan Kim drove in four runs. The Trojans' Cody Haynes and Jack McDonough both collected two RBIs for the Trojans.
Haynes was 3 for 5, including three doubles.
On Saturday, the two teams will complete Friday's second game and then play the series finale.
