NORFOLK, Neb. - The NIACC baseball team split an ICCAC doubleheader with Northeast CC Satuday.
Northeast CC won the first game 7-6 in eight innings and NIACC won the second game 6-2.
In the second game win, NIACC rallied for the 4-run win with four runs in the sixth inning and two runs in the seventh inning.
Caden Watson (4-1) picked up the complete-game victory. Watson, a freshman right-hander, allowed two runs on four hits with seven strikeouts and three walks.
Jacob Neutz hit a two-run home run for the Trojans. George McIntyre and Hudson Waldow both picked up two hits for the Trojans. McIntyre, Lincoln Becker and Waldow all had doubles.
In the first game, Northeast CC scored three runs in the first inning and added single runs in the fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth innings. NIACC plated two runs in the first inning and four runs in the fourth frame.
McIntyre was 2 for 3, including a double and home run, with three RBIs. It was McIntyre's 14th home run of the season.
Tommy Lyman drove in two runs for the Trojans (18-33 overall, 11-21 in the ICCAC).
The two teams wrap up their three-game series with a single game on Sunday.
