Trojans to compete at Drake Relays
DES MOINES - The NIACC men's track and field team will compete in four events Friday at the Drake Relays.
The Trojans will compete in the Drake Relays college division in the 4x100 prelims (9:37 a.m.) and 4-x200 meter prelims (7:48 p.m.) relays. The Trojans' Tyreese James will compete in the university/college division 100-meter dash (2:11 p.m.) and Quinton Ellis (5:34 p.m.) will run in the university/college division 400-meter dash.
In the 4x100-meter relay, NIACC will run joshua Koffi, James, Ellis and Jewel Jackson.
In the 4x200-meter relay, the Trojans will run Koffi, James, Ellis and either Jackson or Gabe Hemsworth.
The 4x100 college division finals are set for Saturday at 3 p.m. The 4x200 college division finals are at 7:48 p.m. on Friday.
NIACC's Terrence Thomas qualified in the long jump but will not compete due to injury.
At the 2024 Drake Relays, Thomas placed eighth in the long jump and was 16th in the triple jump in the university/college division. Ellis was 10th in the university/college division 400-meter dash and the Trojans placed 13th in the college division sprint medley relay.
