Trojans set to compete at nationals
HUTCHINSON, Kan. - The NIACC men's track and field team will compete in seven events at the NJCAA Division I national meet starting on Thursday.
NIACC's Quinton Ellis will compete in the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash. The Trojans' Tyreese James will compete in the 200-meter dash, as well.
Ellis has a season-best time of 21.10 seconds in the 200 and 47.12 in the 400. James' season-best in the 200 is 21.38.
NIACC's Rodney Ngezimani will compete in the shot put and discus. Ngezimani has a season-best toss of 15.23 meters in the shot put and 47.91 meters in the discus.
The Trojans' Terrence Thomas qualified in the long jump and Gabe Hemsworth will compete in the 400-meter hurdles. Thomas' best jump this season in the long jump is 7.19 meters and Hemsworth's best time in the 400 hurdles is 55.07.
The Trojans will also run Thomas, James, Joshua Koffi and Ellis in the 4x100-meter relay.
