NIACC women ranked 10th in preseason poll
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team is ranked 10th in the NJCAA Division II preseason poll released Monday.
NIACC was 26-7 overall and 11-3 in the ICCAC in the 2017-18 season and returns one sophomore in Tahya Campbell. The Lady Trojans advanced to their fifth straight NJCAA Region XI title game last season.
Monroe CC is ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll. Kirkwood is ranked No. 2 and Illinois Central is ranked seventh.
NIACC opens the 2018-19 regular season at home Friday against Illinois Central at the Konigsmark Klassic. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.
The Lady Trojans were ranked ninth in last season's preseason poll and were ranked as high as second in the 2017-18 season.
