No. 3 NIACC women win league opener, 113-92
CRESTON - The No. 3 NIACC women's basketball team opened the ICCAC season with a 113-92 victory over Southwestern Saturday afternoon.
NIACC (8-2 overall, 1-0 in ICCAC) received 36 points from Mandy Willems and 23 points from Jada Buford. Willems, who connected on nine 3-point goals, grabbed nine rebounds with five steals and two assists.
NIACC also received 18 points from Autam Mendez and 15 points from Tahya Campbell.
NIACC returns to action Dec. 27 in the opening round of the Illinois Central holiday tournament against Bryant & Stratton (Wis.) in East Peoria, Ill.
