No. 9 NIACC women roll past Little Priest, 116-69
MASON CITY - The No. 9 NIACC women's basketball team cruised to a 116-69 victory over Little Priest Tribal College Wednesday night in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
Freshman Autam Mendez scored 30 points with a career-high 17 rebounds, four assists, two steals and one blocked shot as the Lady Trojans improved to 7-0 at home this season. The 30 points for Mendez matched her career high.
It was the fifth double-double of the season and second straight double-double for Mendez, who also scored 30 points with 12 rebounds in last Sunday's win over Southeastern.
NIACC (14-5 overall, 5-1 in the ICCAC) also received 31 points from Mandy Willems and 21 points from Jada Buford. Tahya Campbell and Alexa Loftus also both reached double figures with 14 points and 10 points, respectively.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at Ellsworth in an ICCAC contest. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
