NIACC women move up to No. 2 in latest rankings
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team moved up to No. 2 in the NJCAA Division II poll released Tuesday.
The No. 2 ranking is the highest for the NIACC women since the Lady Trojans were ranked second in the Dec. 19, 2017 poll.
NIACC (19-5, overall, 10-1 ICCAC) was ranked fifth in the Feb. 5 poll. The Lady Trojans were 2-0 last week with home wins over Iowa Central (74-63) and then No. 2 Kirkwood (68-62).
NIACC, which has won seven straight games, returns to action Wednesday at Little Priest Tribal College. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
