SIOUX CITY - The NIACC women's soccer team tied Western Iowa Tech 2-2 on Wednesday in an ICCAC match.
The two teams were tied 2-2 at the half and neither squad recorded a goal in the second 45 minutes.
Western Iowa Tech (2-6-2 overall, 0-2-2 in the ICCAC) took a 1-0 lead two minutes into the match on an unassisted goal by Noelle Fabri.
NIACC (4-3-3, 2-1-1) tied the contest 13 minutes into the half on a goal from sophomore Emmalyse Bordignon on an assist from sophomore Maya Gildroy. The Trojans took a 2-1 lead two minutes later on a goal from freshman Rikke Vestrgard with an assist from Gildroy.
Bordignon now has 17 career goals, which ranks second on the school's career goals scored list. The goal was Bordignon's sixth this season.
Gildroy now has 13 career assists, which is tied for first on the school's career assist list. Jette Busche, who played for the Trojans in 2021-22, also has 13 career assists.
Western Iowa Tech scored the final goal of the contest with four minutes left in the first half when Tashoy Dennis scored an unassisted goal.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at home against No. 16 Iowa Central (6-2, 2-1). Match time on the NIACC campus is slated for 1 p.m.
