No. 9 Iowa Lakes edges NIACC, 86-83
MASON CITY - The No. 9 Iowa Lakes men's basketball team edged NIACC 86-83 on Thursday night in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
NIACC led 5-38 at the half, but the Lakers outscored the Trojans 48-38 in the second 20 minutes to claim the conference victory.
Sophomore guard McKelary Robertson scored a career-high 30 points with six assists and two rebounds to lead the Trojans. It was the first time a Trojan scored 30 points in a game since James Harris scored 31 points and Quentin Hardrict scored 30 points against the Simpson College Junior Varsity on Jan, 23, 2020.
Bradley Andrews was next in line for the Trojans with a career-high 18 points.
Also for the Trojans, Jaden Horton scored eight points with three rebounds and three blocked shots and Blake Graham scored eight points. Devon'dre Mayfield scored seven points with five rebounds.
Iowa Lakes (8-3 overall, 8-3 in ICCAC) was led by Caleb Johnson with 26 points. Also for the Lakers, Xzavier Jones scored 20 points, Ryan Hall scored 14 points and Kevin Cook scored 12 points.
NIACC (1-11, 1-11) returns to action Saturday at Southwestern in an ICCAC contest.
