NIACC men roll past Northeast CC, 89-65
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team completed the season sweep over Northeast CC Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest in the NIACC gym.
NIACC, which topped Northeast CC 70-67 on March 6 in Norfolk, Neb., led 45-31 at the half and outscored the Hawks 44-34 in the second 20 minutes to improve its record to 5-14 overall and 5-14 in the ICCAC.
Freshman Bradley Andrews led NIACC with 16 points. The Trojans also received 15 points from Marshaun Carroll, 14 points from Devon'dre Mayfield and 13 points from McKelary Robertson.
Robertson also collected nine rebounds and dished out eight assists.
NIACC accumulated a season-high 26 assists on its 35 made baskets. Noah Rigatuso had six assists and Jordan Jones had five assists.
NIACC's Jeffrey Skogen had seven points with six rebounds, two assists and one steal.
NIACC outrebounded Northeast CC 47-27. Robertson led the Trojans with his nine rebounds. Tysen Brennan collected seven rebounds and Skogen's six boards was a career high.
Northeast CC (3-16, 3-16) was led by Michael Anderson with a game-high 23 points.
NIACC returns to action next Saturday in an ICCAC contest at Iowa Western.
