IOWA FALLS - The No. 16 NIACC softball team split an ICCAC doubleheader with Ellsworth on Saturday.
Ellsworth won the first game 3-2 and NIACC won the second game 6-2.
In the first game, Ellsworth won the contest with a single run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
For the Trojans, Ally Wall was 2 for 4, including a double. Mya Bunkers was 2 for 3, including a triple, with two RBIs.
In the second game, sophomore right-hander Macy Kellar (9-6) gained the win in the circle for the Trojans. Kellar allowed two runs on six hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
NIACC collected 11 hits, including three doubles from Bunkers, Ella Trenkamp and Thea Mattson, in the second-game victory. Katie Riesselman was 3 for 4 with three RBIs.
Trenkamp and Kaitlin Blair both collected two hits for the Trojans.
NIACC (24-16 overall, 8-6 in the ICCAC) returns to action Sunday at home against Kirkwood. The first game on the NIACC campus is slated for noon.
