MASON CITY - The No. 22 NIACC softball team moved its win streak to eight games with a twinbill sweep of Northeast CC on Saturday on the NIACC campus.
NIACC (33-19 overall, 17-9 in the ICCAC) topped Northeast CC 6-0 in the first game and completed the ICCAC sweep with a 10-0 win in five innings in the second game.
In the first game, NIACC freshman Ally Wall hit three home runs and drove in five of the Trojans' six runs. Wall, who has 20 home runs, was 4 for 4 in the opener.
Wall's 20 home runs ranks fourth on the school's all-time single season home run list.
It was the first time a NIACC player hit three home runs in a game since Madisyn Kelley against Iowa Lakes in the second game of a doubleheader on April 17, 2024.
NIACC's Mya Bunkers also hit a solo home run in Saturday's first game. Bunkers leads the team with 21 home runs, which ranks third on the school's all-time single season home run list.
NIACC's Izzy Sloan (16-8) and Maren Sauvageau combined for the first-game shutout. Sloan gained the win allowing two hits with nine strikeouts and three walks in six innings of work.
Sauvageau tossed a scoreless seventh inning to complete the shutout.
In the second game, Macy Kellar (14-7) gained the win for the Trojans with a three-hit shutout. Kellar struck out four in gaining her sixth shutout of the season and ninth of her career.
It was fifth straight shutout for the Trojans, who have not allowed a run since Iowa Lakes scored two runs in a 3-2 Trojan win in the first game of a doubleheader on April 19.
NIACC's Katie Riesselman was 2 for 3, including a double and home run, with three RBIs. The Trojans' Makayla Wirkus was 4 for 4, including a double.
Also for the Trojans, Elle Trenkamp was 3 for 3 and drove in a run.
NIACC wraps up its regular season at home on Sunday against Iowa Central on sophomore day. The first game is slated to start at noon.
