NIACC's Scanlan, Bernard bow out in consy round
COUNCIL BLUFFS - NIACC's Cory Scanlan and Nicky Bernard both bowed out in the consolation round Friday night at the NJCAA national championships at the Mid-America Center.
At 157 pounds, Scanlan won his first consolation round match with a 2-0 win over Harper's Maguire Hoeksema.
Scanlan (19-10) then was eliminated from the tournament with a 2-1 loss to Pratt's Jacob Goodwin.
At 184 pounds, Bernard (17-9) dropped a 7-2 decision to Umpqua's Matteo Monteiro Furtado Tresse in the consolation round of eight Friday night.
