WEST PLAINS, Mo. - The NIACC baseball team dropped a 10-4 decision to Missouri State University-West Plains on Sunday.
Missouri State-West Plains (4-4 overall) scored three runs in the fourth inning, one run in the fifth inning, four runs in the seventh inning and two runs in the eighth frame.
NIACC scored two runs in the third inning and single runs in the eighth and ninth innings.
Sophomore Jacob Neutz powered the Trojan offense by going 3 for 4, including a home run, and four RBIs. Neutz, who has 11 career home runs, leads the Trojans with seven home runs.
NIACC also received a double from Jack Gorman.
NIACC starting pitcher Joe Pirillo (0-1) pitched six innings allowing four runs on four hits with six strikeouts and three walks.
NIACC (2-7) returns to action Friday at the Vincennes Invitational in Vincennes, Ind. The Trojans face Lincoln Trail College at 3 p.m.
