Trojans' Neutz having historic season
MASON CITY - Sophomore Jacob Neutz is having a historic seaason for the NIACC baseball team.
Heading into the final three games of the season, Neutz has 24 home runs this seaosn, which is one away from tying Robbie Glendinning for the school's all-time single-season home run mark. Glendinning hit 25 home runs in 2016.
The 24 home runs is currently tied for third in NJCAA Division II with Tanner Mitchell of South Alabama CC.

Neutz hit three home runs in Wednesday's 31-7 loss to Iowa Central. it was the first time a NIACC player hit three home runs in a single game since Matt Schwarz hit three round trippers against Ellsworth in the second game of a twinbill on May 5, 2017.
Neutz also became the 29th member of NIACC's 100-hit club as he has 102 career hits with three games remaining in the 2026 season for the Trojans.
Neutz, who is from Burnsville, Minn., is hitting .426 with 74 RBIs this season. He also has 10 doubles to go with his 24 home runs.
The 74 RBIs by Neutz ranks fourth on the school's all-time single-season list. Glendinning holds the school's all-time single-season RBI record with 87 in his historic 2016 season, Troy Bullinghamd (2016) ranks second with 82 and Austin LaDoux ranks third with 75 (2016).
