MASON CITY - The NIACC baseball team stopped Iowa Lakes 18-7 in seven innings an ICCAC contest Tuesday afternoon at Roosevelt Field.
NIACC pounded out 19 hits, including five home runs, to score its 18 runs. The Trojans also collected five doubles as they won for the third time in their last four games.
NIACC sophomore Justyn Rivera was 4 for 5, including two home runs and a double, with three RBIs and three runs scored runs. Rivera's two-run home run in the seventh inning gave the Trojans' their 10-run win in seven innings in the secheduled nine-inning contest.
NIACC sophomore Tommy Lyman was 4 for 4, including a home run and a double, with three RBIs and three runs scored.
NIACC sophomore Minchan Kim was 2 for 5, including a home run and a double, with three RBIs. The Trojans' Gage Peterson hit a 3-run home run in the six-run sixth inning.
The Trojans' Jacob Neutz was 3 for 5, including a triple.
