Trojans' Codling earns 3 top 3 finishes
WAVERLY - NIACC's Xavier Codling earned three top three finishes Saturday at the Wartburg College Chelsey M. Henkenius Invitational.
Codling won the long jump with a leap of 7.02 meters (23 feet, 0 1/2 inches). He was also second in the high jump with a leap of 1.95 meters (6-4 3/4)) and was third in the 60-meter dash in a time of 6.95 seconds.
Codling's mark in the long jump ranks second on the school's all-time indoor list. His leap in the high jump also ranks second on the school's all-time indoor list and his time in the 60-meter dash is tied for fifth on the school's all-time list.
NIACC's Aldaine Angus placed fourth in the 60-meter dash in a time of 6.99, which ranks eighth on the school's all-time list. Angus was second in the long jump with a leap of 6.91 meters (22-8), which ranks third on the school's all-time indoor list.
Also in the long jump, NIACC's Kahuan Harris placed fourth with a jump of 6.54 meters (21-5 1/2), which ranks seventh on the school's all-time indoor list.
Also in the high jump, NIACC's Avery Culhane was sixth with a jump of 1.80 meters (5-10 3/4).
In the 60-meter hurdles, NIACC's Sha'Vion Jackson placed third in a time of 8.52 seconds, which ranks third on the school's all-time list.
In the 800-meter run, NIACC's Xander Graeser placed first in a time of 2:09.00. The Trojans' Alex Almelien was second (2:16.77), Nikolli Mosley was third (2:20.82), Alex Moore was sixth (2:45.19) and John Mhizha was seventh (2:51.34).
In the mile, Almelien was seventh in a time of 5:09.88.
In the triple jump, NIACC's Javon Kille was fourth with a leap of 13.26 meters (43-6) and Joshua Miller was sixth (11.49 meters/37-8 1/2). Kille's jump of 13.26 meters ranks third on the school's indoor triple jump list.
In the shot put, NIACC's Colin Rasch was sixth with a toss of 12.95 meters (42-6).
In the weight throw, Rasch was seventh (13.79 meters/45-3) and Dylan Hansen was ninth with a toss of 13.29 meters (43-7 1.4), which is fifth on the school's all-time list.
In the 4x400-meter relay, NIACC placed second in a time of 3:28.38 running Alex Marchand Fierro, Rashaun Sinnwell, Tyjah Bishop and Gabe Hemsworth.
