Trojans' Angus places 3rd in long jump at Cyclone Open
AMES - NIACC's Aldaine Angus placed third in the long jump Friday at the Iowa State Cyclone Open with a leap of 6.83 meters (22 feet, 5 inches).
Iowa State's Justin Gleason won the long jump with a jump of 6.88 meters (22-7) and Iowa Western's Taj Wilson was second with a jump of 6.86 meters (22-6 1/4).
NIACC's Sha'vion Jackson was fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.41 seconds, which ranks second on the school's all-time list.
NIACC's Xavier Codling placed seventh in the high jump with a leap of 1.91 meters (6-3 1/4). Codling was also 14th in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.76 seconds, which ranks ninth on the school's all-time indoor list.
NIACC's Gavin Grunhovd was eighth in the 3,000-meter run in a taime of 8:38.54, which ranks second on the school's all-time list. Melvin Kipkemboi owns NIACC's 3K school record with a time of 8:36.85 at the NJCAA Division I indoor national championships on March 5, 2021.
In the shot put, NIACC's Marshall Zeien was 19th with a toss of 12.72 meters (41-8 3/4), which ranks eighth on the school's all-time indoor shot put list.
In the weight throw, the Trojans' Colin Rasch was 12th with a toss of 13.93 meters (45-8 1/2).
