NIACC's Lee-Green, McCleish place 2nd at Coe Invite
CEDAR RAPIDS - NIACC's Clarence Lee-Green and Chase McCleish both placed second at the Coe College Invitational on Saturday.
At 133 pounds, Lee-Green (3-2) dropped a 4-3 decision to Cornell's Evan Husko in the finals.
Lee-Green advanced to the title match with a :52 fall over Cornell's Keegan Schultschik in the quarterfinals and a 3-1 decision over Simpson College's Jason Padilla in the semifinals.
At 184 pounds, Cornell's Colin Hondered took a 4-1 decision from McCleish in the championship match.
McCleish (7-1) gained a 12-5 decision over Coe's Logan Andeway in his first round match. He took a 13-4 major decision from Cornell's Joseph Pasquesi in the quarterfinals and stopped Graceland's Cameron Cornman 9-3 in sudden victory in the semifinals.
The Trojans' Brody Hawtrey was fourth (149) and Connor Wiemann was fifth (141). The Trojans also had three seventh-place finishes - Roush Jaeger (165), Cale Luthens (174) and Jaylin Smith (285).
Earning eighth-place finishes for NIACC were Ryker Pentz (141) and Nick Billings (184).
Wrestling unattached, Quentrevion Campbell claimed the 141-pound title and Cruz Aguilar placed second at 125 pounds.
Campbell took a 10-2 major decision from Graceland University's Jackson Wenberg in the title match. Campbell moved to the finals with a 22-6 technical fall over Cornell College's Reilly Dolan in the semifinals. Campbell gained a 15-7 major decision over Coe's Dylan Gribsby in the quarterfinals and gained a 16-1 technical fall over Graceland University's Brayden Phillips in his first-round match.
At 125 pounds, Coe's Alex Friddle topped Aguilar 12-7 in the title match.
Aguilar moved to the finals with a pair of falls over Coe's Cael Long in 1 minute, 29 seconds and Missouri Baptist University's Dillon Witt in 1:01.
